Barcode

Barcodes are widely used in encoded ID cards because they are very easy to create. The advantage of barcodes is that they are easy to print and adds a layer of security against forging. Even if the ID is forged and looks exactly the same, the barcode will not scan properly. Another technology used is magnetic stripes. These embedded technologies can designate different levels of security as well as can quickly identify if the card is legitimate in the system.
