Bow Tie Fastenings Then and Now
Fabric or bow ties were one of the easiest and most popular methods for fastenings. They were mostly used on necks and sleeves, bodices, gowns, ruffs, collars, petticoats. camisoles, hats, or as ties holding up the drape of bustled skirts, etc. These ties which were previously purely functional became something of a mere decoration across the ages. Today designers are still experimenting and evolving both their function and design.
